Allambie Vet Clinic is a family run business that has been operating for over 30 years and Ally knew this was the only place she wanted to begin her career in animal care. Her passion in caring for animals began very early on when, as a child, she would rescue injured wildlife and regularly bring all sorts of creatures home to care for them. Her passion grew from there and she then began doing work experience at Allambie Vet all those years ago which was decision that would change her life.

Ally became passionate about helping animals from a medical perspective, but she also found an area that she felt she could provide even more value to an animals life and that was animal behaviour. Through the hundreds of animals that walk through Allambie Vets doors each month, Ally saw an enormous pattern arising which was the number of dogs that were anxious, frightened, poorly socialised, untrained and owners that weren’t aware of the body language their dogs were exhibiting.  A huge gap was missing in educating owners about how to make their dog feel comfortable not just at the vet, but any foreign place the owners would take them to, or new experiences that dogs were expected to cope with, but couldn’t.

It became very apparent that most people enrolled their puppies into puppy preschool, but very few continued any further training with their dog, whether that’s with a professional or by themselves. This is the gap in which we can make such a difference in our dogs lives and this is what prompted Ally to start Spot On Dog Training to ensure owners and dogs are given the skills to create wonderful relationships with each other that are filled with fun and respect and have positive experiences with any activity they undertake. Owning a dog is meant to be fun and easy, not hard work and stressful. This is where Ally can help you!
